Echinocactus texensis (Horse Crippler) seeds. Syn. Homalocephala texensis. Sunset: 10-13; USDA: 5-11. Hardy to 0° F.  Full sun to light shade in hot gardens. Light summer water, dry winter. Provide good drainage. Solitary when young, slowly clustering, 12″ in diameter, 8″ high. Pink flowers. Origin: Texas, southeastern New Mexico, northeastern Mexico.
